DD Role Summary: Founded in 2010, Young Women Empowered has grown from serving 50 young and adult women annually to serving over 650 . The new Development Director will be a driving force in sustaining our growth through planning and guiding the implementation of our development strategy. The Development Director will strengthen and expand Y-WE’s foundation of fiscal sustainability. The DD will build Y-WE’s development infrastructure; craft strategic communications to diverse donor audiences; and raise the profile of Y-WE through targeted marketing and clear messaging. The Development Director will work closely with the Co-Executive Directors and the Board of Directors to foster organizational success through cultivating lasting and authentic relationships with the donors, sponsors, partners, corporations, foundations, and clients who support our organization. In alignment with our 5-year growth goals, the Development Director will design and implement a strategic development plan that will expand our budget from $680,0000+ per year to $850,000+. At Y-WE we believe that development is an important part of everyone’s job. The Development Director will take a lead role in crafting the strategy, communication tools, and fundraising objectives needed to guide the board, staff, mentors, volunteers and young women in collaboratively sustaining our programs. The DD will mobilize Y-WE’s philanthropy committee, board of directors, and development volunteers to maximize our fundraising potential.

The DD will be energized by networking, public speaking, and serving as a key external “face” of Y-WE. The DD will be ambitious and strategic about annual fiscal goals, helping to shape the path for Y-WE to become fiscally robust. The DD will have people management know-how and be a warm leader with a deeply collaborative style and strong listening skills.
