THANK YOU for your interest in mentoring!
Returning mentors, please click here for the Y-WE summer 2019 mentor application.
Do you believe that young women have a major role to play in determining the future of our communities and the world? Y-WE gives you the chance to join a high-spirited, intergenerational and multicultural community of women ages 13 and up who are dedicated to building a positive future for our communities and the world.
- Receive training in intergenerational youth work, cultural competency, life-coaching, creative facilitation and more
- Share your experience and wisdom, and learn from the wisdom of others
- Feel the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of young women
You will also participate in all the program activities alongside the girls. This program meets 2-3 times per month in the greater Seattle area.
Our Mentorship Model:
Your primary role as a mentor is to be present and authentic, listen well and be willing to jump right in. We welcome women of all backgrounds: cultural, religious, educational, economic and sexual orientation. We seek to have mentors who closely reflect the diversity of our youth.
As a mentor, your consistent attendance is essential! Please check the dates to make sure you can attend most of the program. If you have questions about this, please contact us. If mentoring is too large a commitment at this time, consider becoming a Y-WE volunteer. Our many short-term volunteer opportunities also provide meaningful experiences working with the Y-WE.
