THANK YOU to Leslie Cotter, David Whyte and the Many River’s Company for hosting an amazing benefit for us on December 2nd. Over 700 people showed up in support and we raised over $10,000. Thanks to everyone who attended the event and generously donated. Special thanks to Y-WE founding board member, Leslie Cotter,  for her incredible event planning and outstanding generosity. Visit www.davidwhyte.com to learn more about David and his work.

Speeches were given by Ruta and Mckain–two young women who graduated out of the program in 2011 and returned as mentors in 2012.

A Facebook post from McKain after the event: “Feeling happy, inspired, enthused, exhilarated, rejuvenated, passionate, empowered, and ready to take on the world after spending the last day and a half with the beautiful humans that make up Young Women Empowered. Also feeling honored, humbled, and supported by the experience of speaking to around 700 people, about the experiences that I hold most dear, and the issues I am committed to. I feel so proud to share community with so many beautiful and astonishing women. so proud and so incredibly happy.”
