BIPOC Hands on the Land
June 29 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Y-WE Create Weekly Cohort
Mondays: BIPOC Hands on the Land at Marra Farm (In-person, 9am – 11am)
With our hands on the land at Marra Farm in South Park, we as a community of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) changemakers, will connect deeply with the earth in reciprocal relationship, learn practical gardening skills, and grow fresh, culturally relevant produce expanding food access locally. Doing so as BIPOC is an act of resistance in opposition to the racist and unjust food system dominant in the U.S and an opportunity to engage in healing land-based trauma from our own positionalities. Skills include preparing vegetable beds, planting vegetable starts and seeds, weeding by hand, watering, harvesting, and washing produce. Capacity is limited to 4, centering BIPOC youth. We will follow strict safety practices in alignment with state and CDC guidelines. Equipment is provided, no gardening experience necessary! Facilitated by Neli Jasuja.
This is a closed Y-WE Event, please contact Tayah at email@example.com for more information.
