Who owns the internet? Who is behind the technology that you use every day? And what does it mean to be a creator of technology?

Applications for the 2019-2020 year are currently closed. Check back in summer 2020 to apply for the 2020-2021 cohort!

In Y-WE Code, young women* ages 13–18 explore ways to use technology tools for learning, career success, self-expression, social change and the history of women in technology. Within an intergenerational community of diverse youth and adult women mentors, we will get hands-on with coding and digital technology, practice different methods of project management and explore ways that we can keep growing creativity through technology.  In Y-WE Code, we will develop college and career readiness, grow as leaders and discover ways we can use technology to make a difference in our world.

Listening to the panel speakers helped me realize that there are faces behind technology and organizations. It helped me see that I could be just like them and be successful in STEM if I want to.
