Jae Eun Kim (they/them) is an arts educator and multi-disciplinary artist with a focus in printmaking. Through their work they explore themes of futurism, diaspora and connection through their artworks and community activation projects. Their practice includes co-founding the creative arts space flower flower which for two years focused on uplifting queer artists of color in the CID (Chinatown International District) and have shown work in local galleries and community spaces in Seattle.
In their current programs at education research organization foundry10, they are focused on supporting young artists in building creative confidence, uplifting creative arts leadership and exploring visual expression in tabletop game design. They strongly believe that art-making and play have the power to bring people together during difficult times. They are passionate about uplifting more BIPOC voices in nerd and gaming spaces and hope this program brings more young artists to the game designer table. In their free time, they’re hanging out with their two weird cats, playing Quacks or Wingspan with their partner, or walking around the south end.
