Rae originally joined Y-WE in 2019 to manage and facilitate outdoor and environmental justice based programming, bringing with her an extensive background in environmental education and facilitating transformative outdoor experiences with young people. She later transitioned into operations, managing Y-WE’s behind-the-scenes systems and structures. Now in the Operations Director role, Rae oversees Y-WE’s general operations and provides strategic leadership support. She still helps out at the occasional outdoor program day and mentors at the sewing summer camp. She is honored and grateful to serve an organization where young people, particularly BIPOC young women, are centered, celebrated, and cared for in community. Outside of work you can find Rae teaching sewing classes, enjoying sci-fi media of all kinds, and going on outdoor adventures.
