Y-WE Grow Summer Internship
We are offering this paid internship opportunity for youth who have participated in the Y-WE Grow programs at Marra Farm in the past to support you in expanding your farming, facilitation, and professional skills while helping Y-WE grow food for our communities! Beyond maintaining our garden plot, we will harvest food and distribute it at South Park’s neighbor-organized farmer’s market, El Mercadito. We will also visit and support local BIPOC farmers and care for the fruit tree orchard at Marra Farm.
Tuesday-Thursday 9AM-12PM, July 5-August 19
Location: Marra Farm (Marra-Desimone Park, 9026 4th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108) and Thursdays on Zoom
Anyone who has participated in a Y-WE Grow program or internship is welcome to apply. If we have more spots available, we will open it up.
We are limited to 12 spots and we are centering youth who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ and Y-WE Grow alums. All are welcome to apply.
We are grateful to meet in person at Marra Farm on Duwamish and Coast Salish land, in South Park, Seattle. COVID-19 safety precautions are taken.

Spring/Summer 2022 Nature Connections!
Applications are currently closed. Check back soon for Fall opportunities!
Experience the power of Nature as sanctuary and teacher while exploring the Shores, Trails, Lakes, Rivers and Mountains of our northwest home. Through activities such as hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, camping, biking and gardening we will learn how to deepen our relationship with nature and ourselves. By engaging with and learning about these unique and expansive outdoor spaces, we will practice connecting deeply with ourselves, each other, and our plant and animal neighbors. We will also learn how we can all be responsible stewards of our natural systems, engage in environmental justice topics, and learn about local ecology. On weekdays, we’ll explore local parks, while most weekends, we will venture further into wild spaces, such as Washington State Parks, with a couple of camping trips mixed in!
All of our trips are designed to be accessible without any previous experience and will help participants build the skills to be successful and safe in the outdoors.
We are limited to 12 spots and are centering youth who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+. All are welcome to apply.

Everything was perfect! I especially loved how we learned so many technical skills this time around. It felt really intentional and useful to learn about herbs and tools and preparations. Loved the woodworking workshops especially! I learned the most in that one!-Spring 2021 Y-WE Grow participant
