Jwan Mohammadi she/her

Jwan Mohammadi (she/her) is a Kurdish‑Iranian woman whose life has been shaped by navigating, honoring, and celebrating the many identities she carries. Raised in a culture rich with resilience, storytelling, and community, she finds grounding in her roots — especially through family, food, music, and the traditions passed down across generations.

Originally from Portland and now in Seattle, Jwan finds joy in movement and nature. She loves swimming, snowboarding, spending time in the water, and diving into new hobbies just for fun. A lifelong lover of music, she believes deeply in its power to heal, connect, and bring more joy into our lives.

Seeking ways to build stronger ties within her community, Jwan stumbled upon a Y‑WE mentoring opportunity and immediately felt at home. She was drawn to the organization’s mission and has seen firsthand how Y‑WE’s programs and camps build confidence, joy, and leadership in BIPOC youth. She is passionate about inspiring young people to trust their brilliance and grow into confident leaders.

Jwan has spent her entire adult life working in healthcare, with a strong commitment to public and community health. She believes deeply in building healthy communities and leading with intention and an equity‑first mindset.
