karisa@y-we.org

Karisa is our Programs, Outreach, and Advocacy Manager. She comes to this work with a commitment to nurturing individual and community power. She believes in our collective capacity to imagine and build toward a world in which everyone has the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual conditions needed to thrive. Karisa has a background in working with young people, community organizing, housing and basic needs support, interpersonal and systemic violence interruption, and advocacy work. Her work is grounded in creating space for healing, innovating, and honoring our collective humanity. Her approach is shaped by her learning from and involvement in abolition, racial justice, and youth empowerment movements. At Y-WE, Karisa will be supporting programs, expanding our reach and accessibility, and helping to build our framework for advocacy engagement.
