Welling is a mother, writer, and communications strategist who brings an unwavering commitment to justice and love of story to her work. She delights in playing with words and possibilities to extract the unspoken essence of a bold idea – and then accompanying it into creation. She began her career in magazine journalism before leveraging her passion for storytelling in service of social change efforts. For 25 years, Welling has collaborated with people and organizations to build relationships, elevate ideas, hone messages, and shape strategies to advance their vision for a better world.
Accomplice in audacity, uncorker of clarity – these are roles to which she’s best suited. Yet her most gratifying and humbling role is mother of two children who are entering early adolescence. Welling believes in radical hospitality, seeking everyday awe, and starting the morning with a strong cup of coffee (with a dash of cream and sugar). She’s a Seattle native who has called southern Chile home for the last 10 years.
