Find your voice, tell your story, create community, and play games! Creating a generative and supportive youth ensemble, we will express our creativity and passions through theater games and performance. Exploring themes of identity, community, and social justice, participants will write personal monologues, explore community issues, and practice using theater for social change. By learning performance techniques, you will improve public speaking skills and feel empowered in your own voice. Throughout the year, we will discuss how we want to use our voices through theater to create positive change in our communities. We will then work toward a performance, public or private, that shares our stories. Dinner and snacks are provided at class sessions.
In addition to the Thursday classes, participants will be invited to attend professional theatrical performances at Seattle Rep that include a pre-show reception exclusively for teens. These plays will serve as inspiration for the theater we are creating in class. Participants will also be invited to perform on the Seattle Rep stage at the end of the year in the annual Youth Works Festival!

Field Trips: Select Fridays at Seattle Rep (155 Mercer St), with a pre-show teen reception & activities at 6:30pm, and performance beginning at 7:30pm
