Premiering Now: Nature Connections Short-Film

For the past three weeks, we’ve been sharing stories of impact from our farming and food justice program, Y-WE Grow. We are now halfway through our summer campaign, and want to thank all of you who have generously supported us as we build sustainability for Y-WE programs. We know that together, we can reach our goal of $150,000 by the end of August.

Today, we are excited to highlight another incredible outdoor program, Nature Connections! Youth in Nature Connections gain opportunities to explore recreational activities including hiking, backpacking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and more. Along the way, they learn about how we can be stewards of the land and advocate for environmental justice. In this 2-minute video, you’ll see firsthand the joy and connection shared during our recent camping trip:

Our youth participants described Nature Connections as a space that allows them to try new things and stretch their ideas of what they are capable of. When you donate to Y-WE, you are expanding free access to:
  • Joy in community: during outdoor excursions, youth have opportunities to build organic friendships in a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Representation: seeing adults and peers who look like them engaging in outdoor activities breaks down stereotypes and inspires youth to continue pursuing their passions.
  • Connection to the land: youth develop and fortify new environmental narratives rooted in our diverse identities, histories, and cultures.
