Y-WE Bloom: Jay

The energy of Spring wakes us up from our restful winter and activates us to go outside, connect with our community, and start building and moving. For the last month, we have been sharing individual stories of some of our incredible Women Leaders in Y-WE through our Spring campaign, Y-WE Bloom.

Each of us contributes to the ecosystem of Y-WE. Your investment of time, energy and resources flourishes into witnessing the beauty, safety and liberation that Blooms from our collective work.

We are halfway to our goal of raising $200k! These resources help us continue to hold a safe place and environment for our youth, alum and community. Will you help collectively build and expand this liberating space for all of us by donating today? Don’t forget your donation will be matched 1:1.

Q&A Format:

Q: What does liberation look like?
A: I think liberation is a very strong word. I think most people think of empowerment, but it’s also, I feel like it’s about leaving something behind in order to become a better version of yourself.

Q: What makes you feel powerful?
A: I always feel very powerful being around other people. And I think I’ve learned, with being in Y-WE, that I should also believe in what I can do.

Q: How do you Bloom?
A: I feel like I have not completely bloomed, to be honest. I feel like throughout life you’re just a seed, and I guess it’s really up to you whether you decide to bloom. But you should also always continue growing.
