Watch our new video to hear directly from Y-WE participants, showcasing what’s possible when youth are given a radical welcome, the support of a caring community, and opportunities to lead.
Ri’Chara participated in Y-WE programs for over four years, then went on to serve as a mentor and Y-WE intern. Her participation in Y-WE Tech sparked a passion for computers that she’s continuing to pursue in college, and Y-WE’s community of belonging was central to her experience.
Y-WE provides opportunities for our youth to show up in their fullness, take creative risks, and try new things. Wingale Teferi shares her experience finding belonging and exploring new opportunities in her time at Y-WE.
Y-WE creates necessary conditions for action – personal, interpersonal, institutional, systems – that advance equity and justice. Centering youth of color voices and cultivating their agency, creativity, and leadership is fundamental to claiming a liberated future now.
This Fall, we invite our community of supporters to go on a journey to heal in solidarity with us. When we are healed, we have the ability to pour in to our communities, cultivating a space for collective healing.
